Zuoru Yang (杨祚儒)
About me
Zuoru Yang is currently a storage expert at Elastic Block Storage (EBS), Alibaba Cloud.
Previously, he was a senior research engineer in the Storage Product Line at
Huawei. He received his Ph.D. degree from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, The Chinese University of Hong
Kong (CUHK) in 2022. At CUHK, he was a member of the
Applied Distributed System Lab (ADSLab),
supervised by Prof. Patrick
P. C. Lee. He received his B.Eng. degree from the
Department of Computer Science and Technology,
Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU) in 2018. At XJTU, he worked with
Prof. Peng Zhang on Software-Defined
Networking (SDN) and Network Function Virtualization (NFV) (e.g., designing
debug and verification tools for SDN and NFV).
His research interests lie in storage systems, specifically applying data
reduction techniques (e.g., deduplication, delta compression, and local
compression), data protection techniques (e.g., encryption and trusted
computing), and fault tolerance techniques (e.g., erasure coding) to various
storage systems for improved storage efficiency, security, and fault tolerance.
